Hebrewulpan.com is a new exciting program that enables individuals aged 16
and above from all around the globe to learn Hebrew with experienced
Israeli educators through the convenience of their personal computer.
Q. Who is behind the hebrewulpan.com program?
A.
Hebrewulpan.com is conducted by the Jewish Agency for Israel, in
conjunction with AKT LTD and TelPed LTD, leading e-learning and global
management companies.
Q. What is the method of learning?
A. The Jewish
Agency’s Hebrew ulpan methods for teaching Hebrew as a second language
have been proven successful with over 2 million students during the past
60 years. Together with an experienced team of e-learning experts,
Hebrewulpan.com has modified these proven methods onto online learning
environments.Students meet online with their teacher once a week for 90 minute sessions (real time).
Hebrewulpan.com provides its students a vibrant web-based environment to practice and empower the student’s skills and Hebrew learning abilities.
Upon registration, each student will receive from Hebrewulpan.com a series of unique textbooks, specially designed for the program. In addition, a headset for the online sessions with the teacher will also be provided.
Q. Can the lessons be reviewed after they are
taught?
A. Yes. The lessons are recorded and students will have
access to already taught lessons of their group. The lessons can be
reviewed as many times as you wish! Q. Who will be teaching me?
A. For the past 60
years, the Jewish Agency for Israel trains Hebrew teachers, certifying
them as the best Hebrew teachers in Israel and employs them as ulpan
teachers. We’ve chosen a team of highly regarded teachers, led by Mrs.
Pazia Sela and Dr. Rachel Korazim, and have trained them to teach online
using our state of the art internet based technology. Q. What are the minimum requirements?
A. There
aren’t any. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is required in order to
participate in the Hebrewulpan.com program. Q. Is your program also appropriate for advanced
students?
A. The Jewish Agency has intermediate and advanced Hebrew
learning programs which are accredited by the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem. During 2008, Hebrewulpan.com will be also offering online
courses for intermediate and advanced students. Q. How soon will I be able to speak Hebrew?
A.
With our special methods of teaching Hebrew you will practice your Modern
Hebrew from day one. In addition to a large vocabulary, our courses are
designed to endow the students with dynamic tools to structure their own
phrases and sentences at early stages of the program. Q. What is the duration of the programs?
A. Each
program (beginners, intermediate and advanced) is divided into 4 courses.
Each course consists of 9 lessons, ninety minutes each. The lessons will
take place once a week Q. How much does it cost to attend the

A. Each course costs 450 USD. However, if you sign
up for the whole program by December 31st 2007, the cost per course will
